Do It Wk 7 – In Motion

So today we all talked about our projects and gave an overview of what we wanted to do and discussed resources and support etc. It was a very long session but was interesting to hear what everyone wants to do. After the session a small group of us did a short workshop in sound recording using Audacity – this was very interesting. Here’s a gallery of photos from today’s session (let me know guys from artistsdoit if anyone wants your photo removed).

Metropolis Screen Print Posters

Over the last year or two there have been quite a few posters produced  for the Fritz Lang 1927 silent classis “Metropolis” by contemporary artists. Some are really great and I wanted to share the images of those added to my collection. If you reading this, hope you enjoy them.

First up is my favourite by Laurent Durieux, produced for Dark Hall Mansion’s seminal film series of screen print posters. This first one (regular) was produced in addition of 200.

The next was Durieux’s variant of the release, a completely different image, poster size and format and in a limted of just 100.

Decline of Northern Soul

I love all of Pete West’s podcasts of old Wigan Northern tapes but this was the decline in the music for me. I exited the scene in 1981 as there was too much of this modern style of northern for me personally. But some peeps like this. Listen to it here

But here is a much better one. classic Northern.

Tyler’s New Poster for Mondo

Now this has got to be a serious “must have”! Tyler’s latest poster produced and revealed a couple of days ago at a special screening of “Shaun of the Dead” in a full Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End) in Austin. The poster is truly wicked and will be dropping on 22th August, Get it in your diary if you want to buy it you will have to be quick and on standby for a few hours. Here’s is details of the poster on Slashfilm.

And here are images of the regular and variant – 24 x 36 screen print.

Some ‘Must Have’ Mondo releases at SDCC 2013

Ok, this weekend has seen the San Diego Comic Convention in USA at which apparently has been mega busy by all reports. Things sold out pretty quickly and though I tried to get a poster buddy to get me a few posters bsides the Ansin Conan poster I already secured I’ve not had any luck., So, over the coming months I will be trying to buy on the secondary market or will try to acquire through trading some of my older stuff for a number of ‘must-haves”.
